Question
Can someone give me an honest an unbiased answer?
I know the Nikon D is easier to use than the Canon Rebel XTi but why does the Canon take better pictures? Also, I asked the salesman about the Canon and how people say its better than Nikon for sports photography or fast motion and he said it wasnt true. Is it? what does the Canon have that the Nikon doesnt and vice versa, what does the Nikon have that the Canon doesnt. Keep in mind when I say Nikon I am talking about the D and when I say Canon, I mean Rebel XTi.
Answer
Do you think the Canon takes better pictures or did someone tell you that it did?brbrSeriously, by the time you get to this level of camera, YOU are the most important judge. They will both do what you are looking for except for the lack of a spot meter on the XTi and they will both do it well.brbrGo herebrhttpwww.dpreview.comgallerynikondabrbrOpen another copy of Internet Explorer and go herebrhttpwww.dpreview.comgallerycanoneosabrbrFlip back and forth while looking at similar photos dark for dark and bright for bright, etc. Note that you can go below the fullscreen sample and click on the file name to view a fullsized image for critical evaluation.brbrKirr, I know that this is a lot of money for you or anyone to spend on a camera and you just want to make the quotrightquot decision. I will continue to tell you that the decision you make WILL BE the right decision, even if you toss a coin at this point. If you are having such a hard time making up your mind, it just tells me that the two cameras are so close to each other for your needs that it almost does not make a difference which one you get. You buy one and then you defend your choice to the naysayers out there. I love Nikon, but I respect Canon. I am sure that there are others who feel the same only different, putting their loyalty with Canon. Once you are in one family or the other, you will learn so much about those cameras and you will behappy with your choice.brbrHey... Why not rent one of each for a day or a week? I dont know about costs, but you can probably do this in any major city or even by mail or online. Shoot your own samples and see what you think. This might be what you need to really make up your mind, but then you will KNOW you chose the right one for you. Too bad they dont use the same type of memory card, but maybe you have one of each already...brbrNow Im curious... How old are you?
